In our latest North Raleigh kitchen renovation, we completely transformed the space by opening up the wall that previously divided the kitchen from the family room. Because the wall we removed was load-bearing, we installed a beam to support the weight. In order to create a functional breakfast nook, we removed a door and raised windows to make room for a custom-built bench. To unify the space, we added new trim and fresh paint in the dining room and installed new hardwood floors throughout the downstairs.
